My name is Jeanne Heinrichs. I am married to my best friend, Lewis, and just celebrated our 40th anniversary. We have 5 children, 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Both Lewis and I are retired and have made a move to Elmira, Oregon where we enjoy fishing, kayaking and camping. When we are not busy working on our property you can find me inside with my cat painting in my studio.
I hope you will follow me as I continue my artistic journey. My goal is to eventually sell some of my paintings and to reach out to others to help them find the same joy in creating that I have found. I especially hope to reach out to the children who can be our future artists.
In 1990 a friend of mine convinced me to take china painting lessons even though I felt I could not even draw stick figures. Five years later, the owner of a consignment shop I was selling in convinced me to spread my wings and try painting on wood. I always love a challenge so I started flying. This new way of painting turned out to be an exciting flight for me. I would watch my ugly pieces come alive with the beauty that was intended for the piece. I would always look for detailed, unique patterns to paint.
In August of 2009 I came across a couple of online art classes. One is Art Apprentice Online and the other is Traditions Art School. I am still taking classes and can not believe all that I have learned. Before I was doing the "cutezie" painting...now I am doing Fine Art and learning all I can about it. I will always be an artist in training as I search for more knowledge on art and new ways to paint.
